Hi guys! How are you doing today? I hope you are doing great and I hope you are safe and healthy inside your houses.

Today I want to share with you a little blogpost about my favorite hair care masks.

When it comes to hair it really shouldn’t surprise anyone that I am, as well as in makeup, the laziest person on the planet earth, so bare in mind I like something really quick and most of all, effective.

I should also made clear that I have damaged and bleached hair from years and years of getting them done at the salon, so I really focused my haircare routine around two main factors : hydration and splits ends.

Since splits ends is something once it has happened, we can’t do nothing about it, my main goal is to keep my hair as hydrated and as nurshed as I possibly can.

Before jumping into the jucy parts and me rumbling about products I want to share with the bases of the structure of the hair, because to understand how something works, we have to be aware of how we are made.

The hair is made up of 95% keratin, a fibrous, helicoidal protein (shaped like a helix) that forms part of the skin and all its appendages (body hair, nails, etc.).

Keratin is synthesized by keratinocytes and is insoluble in water, thus ensuring impermeability and protection for the hair.

Some 18 amino acids can be found in the hair, such as proline, threonine, leucine and arginine. Keratin is particularly rich in cysteine (a type of sulfurated amino acid), which forms disulfide bonds between molecules, adding rigidity and resistance to the entire structure.

So it is immediately clear how much difficult it actually is for the products we put on top to penetrate in the structure itself. The keratin is something that our body use to protect and to use against something, not something we deliberately use towards the outside.

Moisture and nutrients are our best friends of course but as any kind of situation, the best cure always come from our lifestyle in particular eating and drinking habit.

Saying that, I really can’t stand whenever I here some ads on TV saying “this shampoo is for that kind of hair, those are goods for those” and so on, because they are all doing the same thing to our hairs, but changing the smell or putting some menthol in it make them absolutely a miracle product.

But anyway, said that, the key element is to read the ingredients, as always, and really focusing on few products, but the most effective one.

I brought you right here the most famous and well known example on the beauty market, which is parabens.

Parabens are a class of widely used preservatives in cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. Chemically, they are a series of parahydroxybenzoates or esters of parahydroxybenzoic acid (also known as 4-hydroxybenzoic acid). Parabens are effective preservatives in many types of formulas. These compounds, and their salts, are used primarily for their bactericidal and fungicidal properties. They are found in shampoos, commercial moisturizers, shaving gels, personal lubricants, topical/parenteral pharmaceuticals, suntan products, makeup, and toothpaste. They are also used as food preservatives.

Parabens are molecules who wrap around your hair, making them feeling soft and looking shiny, without giving them any kind of nutrituons. They give us the illusion of having wonderful hair after one use. Instead we are just wrapping our hair around some sort of plastic bag dehydrating then to the maximum.

Having tried a lots of those kind of products, I finally got a small amount of lyst of my favorite masks, who really works.

The first and probably my favorite one, is just raw and simple coconut oil.

Any kind of oil, the more organic the better, is just perfect. I love the smeel of coconut so to me that is perfect, and I love how easy it is to use since it is basically solid at room temperature. I usually apply it overnight and rinse it off in the morning and I love how my hairs feel so soft and nurshed days after days.

The second favorite is by Kerastase, called Masque Thérapiste.

It is definitely a luxury product, compare to my organic coconut oil, so to me this is something I would use once a week and, as always, leave on for all night long. This is one of those products that really stands out for itself, providing amazing results with a luxurious experience, from the packaging to the smell, to the texture. I have repurchased this mask over and over again and I still have to find something that works as good as this.

BTW guys, tangle tweezer is my favorite brush so far!

On to a different type of product, another holy grail item to me is my colorwow dream coat, supernatural spray. I discovered this gem through a Desi Perkins youtube video and since I have damaged and dry hair and really suffer with baby hairs and humidity, I decided to give it a try since she was talking so well about it. And well, it definitely is a miracle product. The base is pretty simple, water and glicerin, and styling my hair has never been easier to me. I specifically use this spray when I want my hair to be straight as spaghetti, and nothing beat this gem, not even the humidity of 98 per cent we experienced in Italy.

I spray it on wet hair and dry then with my phone and I don’t usually use an iron to straight my hair but if you want a really really sleek and smooth look, a quick styling action and you are good to go. Considering it has glicerin in it I don’t particularly need to use any kind of heat protection with this product.

The last mention goes to my favorite shampoo ad conditioner. I used and tried so many shampoos and conditioners I can’t even begin to tell you. I think I have try them all and nothing till today beats this combo. They are by purology, a wonderful brands which is all about sulfate free products and all the good good stuff for your hair and that’s why even if the price is higher than your average shampoo I still purchase and repurchase them every time.

The variaty of ranges and type of products they made is unbelievable, but what really drives me to them is how much thought they put into everything they do. And I can clearly see the results when I use their products.

I highly recommend you check them out.

A little extra shout-out goes to two products I have tried and don’t repurchased, but still I do think they are good products and worth the money. One is by Ouai, and it is their leave in conditioner. I do think there are better ones on the market, with less alcohol in them but still I finished it up and I absolutely love how It made my hair smell. To me it was like that extra touch of porfum for my hair.

The second extra mention is the so famous Olaplex number 3. I repurchased this product so many times considering how expensive it is but I do think it is a good product for damaged hair and the best way for me to use it is to apply it before going to bed and leave it on overnight. This way you get the best cost per wear and the best results.

But anyway, that’s it for today guys, thank you so much for taking the time to read this little blogpost of mine and I hope you have find it some what interesting. I just wanted to mention this products I really really love and have repurchased so many times, which are really my holy grails at this moment.

Let me know if you have any recommendations for me and I will see you soon folks!
